Metrex Research Corporation (“Metrex”) is pleased to announce the
conversion of a little over 40,000 cases of CaviWipes™ and CaviWipesXL™
labels from pink to red to brand our support of pediatric HIV/AIDS
outreach programs. A portion of sales proceeds from each specially
marked red labeled product will be donated to increase awareness and
support much-needed research and treatment programs for pediatric
HIV/AIDS.
Every day, more than 1,000 children are infected with HIV, and the
majority of these infections result from mother-to-child transmission.
Antiretroviral therapy can help these children grow up healthy;
however, in impoverished areas of the world, care and available
treatment are very limited.
Please look for the red-labeled CaviWipes™ products and know that
with each case purchased, you are helping to improve the lives of
HIV-infected children worldwide.
About CaviWipes™
Metrex’s nontoxic* surface disinfectant formula can be used on surfaces
near the most compromised of patients and on sensitive high end

The Holidays are almost here. For many it good and bad. Good because we get to celebrate with family and friends. Bad because along with the change in climate/season (even in the Caribbean) comes health associated problems such as asthma, and along with the celebrating comes some bad habits. Who can resist all that food?
If you are looking for a HEALTHY gift this holiday then we have a couple you can choose from.
For the diabetic or the doctors/nurses/care-givers who look after diabetics we have both the Prestige IQ and the Track Ease handheld blood glucose meters. These meters are the best in class, offering large easy to read displays, the ability to do measurements on mmol/l or mg/dl, sample from the forearn as well as the finger tips, and much more. What is even more incredible is the low cost of our strips. We beat what the competition offers.
For the asthmatics we have a range of nebulizers: Econoneb (for home, doctor offices , clinincs & hospitals), a heavy duty unit designed for continuous duty. The NebXP is a personal unit. This compact unit features a DC motor allowing the addition of a optional rechargeable battery pack and use with a automobile cigarette lighter power adapter. The NebXP can nebulize using a facemask or mouthpiece. Next is the MabisMist II, another personal compact unit. This unit is very quiet as it features ultrasonic nebulizer technology, there is no compressor. The MabisMist II comes standard with a rechargeable battery, allowing great portability.
The holiday season is a time of the year when you have to be on the move. And for those who require an aid we have the equipment to ensure you will be wizzing through the bargin sales in the mall and first in line for that huge slice of you favourite pie at the family dinners. Quad canes, wheelchairs, folding walkers, wheeled walkers, commodes, bath seats, bathroom aids, alternating pressure matresses, and more.
So what are you waiting for? Contact us today for full details, and make this holiday a healthy holiday.

It was all smiles as the first cholecystectomy case was completed successfully by the team. The surgery went without any hitches. Our in-service team were present to assist with the setting up of equipment and preparation of the "Clickline®" instruments and "Endotip" trocars and System 5000® ESU. The in-service team also assisted in the supervising the reprocessing/sterilization of the instruments for the following cases. The medical team was pleased and impressed with the many functions and ease of use of the new equipment. Of particular mention was the ConMed System 5000 electrosurgical unit which allowed the surgeon to change the power output from within the surgical field by simply double tapping the COAG/CUT buttons on the pencil. The fact that the OR nurses would no longer be running back and forth to the ESU, to change settings, everytime the surgeon required won beaming smiles and applause from the O.R. nursing team. The Medical Grade 19" Flat Panel LCD monitor was not to be out done. Its display of vivid detail and accurate representation of colours drew comments of admiration from veteran laparoscopic surgeons who were use to the large Sony® Medical CRT monitors. There was great interest in the fact that, unlike the many dangers of using the Sony® CRT type monitors in an O.R. setting, the Medical flat panel LCD unit's power requirements is only 24 volts and that the unit is essentially sealed and does not have the typical vents that harboured dust and make the CRT type monitors a danger for liquid splashes and spills. Here are a few pictures from the event. SURGERY 1 SURGERY 2

With the chronic shortage of qualified staff, busy waiting rooms and long working hours who is ensuring that sterilization is taking place. We are....automatically! With the most reliable, fully automatic table top autoclaves (steam sterilizers). These units monitor their parameters to ensure conditions for sterilization are met and notify you when your items are ready. They also notify you when the conditions for sterilization were NOT met, safeguarding against non-sterile instruments/supplies being used.
Remember that an integral part of attaining sterilizing items is the cleaning, lubricating and packing process. Removal of bulk debris, the use of enzyme detergents, lubricants (suitable for use with steam), pouches, wraps, etc all play their part. Leaving out any of these steps could mean an item not attaining sterility. We have the products for the job, and the years of experience in the field to assist you in ensuring that the needed criteria to achieve sterilization is met.
