In a recent visit to a medical expo company members Tanya and Michael visited Jim Baum of W. A. Baum Inc., a manufacturer for which we are a distributor in our territory and in which we have great pride. W. A. Baum Inc. is the manufacturer of the Baumanometer® branded products, the Gold Standard for sphymomanometers in the medical industry.




Of special note at the booth was the Baum Roll-By®, a 300 mmHg clinical sphygmomanometer for mobile use. It meets the American National Standard ANSI/AAMI SP-10 for accuracy and performance and is available with Latex or Non-Latex components. Roll-By® features a unique, low reflection, high contrast scale and red pointer to increase visibility and reduce parallax error. The diecast aluminum 5-wheel base(20”dia.) with 2”hooded casters and 2lb. cast iron weight for increased stability. Its manometer housing is mounted at a 20° angle for ease of viewing. The world recognised Baumanometer® Calibrated® V-Lok® inflation System and 8 feet of Extendex® coiled tubing are a standard fixture to the unit. The accuracy of blood pressure devices is a serious issue. The reading given by a device determines whether medication is prescribed, increased, decreased, not prescribed or maintained. When the device being used to determine you blood pressure is reading higher than it should or lower than it should then the danger exists where the preceding mentioned scenarios may play out. But there’s even more to marLED®: the new LED generation also improves the light yield and cuts heat generation even further, with color temperature being adjustable from daylight quality to warm-white artificial light. In a nutshell, marLED® always provides ideal light for cool heads. Variable color temperature: Depending on specific requirements, the surgical site can be illuminated with light in quasi-daylight quality or with a lower color temperature.
